The Unity on Malaysia Day

malaysia_flag
Malaysia Day will be held on September 16, also in conjunction with the formation of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore to form Malaysia way back in 1963.
The plan was at first to be announced on June 1 but was later postponed to August 31 in order to make a grand celebration together with the sixth celebration of Malaysia own Independence Day but plan was changed due to several objections and was only declared then on September 16.
Hence, it marked a special significant on this day itself and that Information Communication and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim hope to gather all Malaysians to celebrate this year together as one and hopefully the celebrations will continue on for years to come. Not only should they celebrate August 31 but also September 16. Declared only last year, this year would be the first year to celebrate Malaysia Day and Sabah will take the lead.
There will be a grand celebration and for you out there, you can definitely expect a 47 minutes long of musical tribute to mark off the 47 years since the formation in 1963.
The celebration will be held at Padang Merdeka at 4pm and our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak is expected to make an appearance to officially launch the celebration and sign the Malaysia Day Book, a gold-plated book, together with the chief ministers of Sabah and Sarawak. There will also be a special award presentation to three recipients; one each from Sabah and Sarawak as well as another representative from Peninsula.
It’s a celebration that any races, religions, cultures or political ideologies should gather together and celebrate to show the unity of Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsula as one.
Plan ahead of this meaningful day by visiting our country attraction places by referring to our comprehensive Malaysia City Guide
